S/Sgt Robert B. Ryner attended high school for three years and was employed at the Central Steel Tube before he enlisted at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa on 18 February 1943.
He died in a field hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments to his urethra and femur. The exact date when he was reported wounded in action and the location where he died, is not known.
