Pfc Marvin L. Ault attended high school for one year and worked on a farm before he enlisted in Evansville, Indiana on 11 February 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his stomach and neck.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
