Pvt William J. Briggs attended high school for four years and was employed at the Portsmouth Navy Yard before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 30 September 1943.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.
He is remembered at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, Essex County, Massachussetts.
