Pfc Jerry Saavedra attended high school for one year and was a driver before he enlisted in Santa Fe, New Mexico on 1 March 1943.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
His brother Fidel L. Saavedra is remembered on the Walls of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery.
