Pfc Wallace Kroll was a hotel and restaurant manager before he enlisted at Fort Sam Houston, Texas on 12 November 1941. He was sent overseas in August 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his buttock and hip and chest.

Both his brothers also served.
