Sgt Paul J. Wismans graduated from Kimberly High School in 1938 and St Norbert College in 1941. His parents immigrated from Venray, Limburg, Holland in 1912.

He was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Foy, Belgium Block B, Row 8, Grave 186.

Sgt Wismans is remembered at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly, Outagamie County, Wisconsin with a memorial marker.

His brother-in-law, Pfc Charlie E. Cochrane, was reported Missing in Action after His Majesty’s Transport (HMT) Rohna, was sunk on 27 November 1943 off the coast of Béjaïa, Algeria. He is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at the North Africa American Cemetery.
