Pvt Anderson was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Schönberg, Belgium on 21 December 1944.He was held prisoner in Stalag IV-B and according to a German autopsy report he died in the Reserve Hospital V in Leipzig of peritonitis on 21 March 1945.
His official date of dead was set on 8 March 1946.
