Pfc Lowell Whittemore graduated from Harvard University and Law School in 1930 and was an attorney.

He enlisted on 9 March 1944 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts and was sent overseas in October 1944.

He was taken prisoner and died in Stalag IV-B.
