Pfc George E. Thompson attended 4 years of high school.He joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort Sheridan, Illinois on 17 December 1943.
He was taken prisoner in the vicinity of Sankt Vith, Belgium on 21 December 1944 and died in POW camp Stalag IX-B.
He is remembered at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown, Wisconsin.
