2nd Lt Ronald H. Daniels graduated from Oakfield High School in Alabama, New York and worked at the Gypsum Railroad Factory.He joined the Regular Army in Rochester, New York on 24 October 1940 and served nine months in Panama before entering Officer's Candidate School at Camp Davis, North Carolina.
He was a POW at Oflag XIII-A in the vicinity of Nuremberg, Germany.
During an air raid on the Nuremberg railroad yard on 5 April 1945, performed by the U.S. Army Airforce, a column of American prisoners, all of them officers, was hit with 29 men killed.
