S/Sgt Robert H. Wurdemann attended the University of Miami and Minnesota and was a radio operator.He enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 13 February 1943. Under the Army Specialized Training Program, he attended the Louisiana State University but was transferred to the infantry in April 1944 shortly before he was sent overseas.
Accordig to a newspaper article in the The Rutherford Republican & American Newspaper of 5 July 1945 he was killed by sniper fire.
Both his brothers also served.
