Sgt John L. Wall graduated from Central Catholic High School and DeSales College. He was employed at the Doehler Die Castings Co.

He enlisted in Toledo, Ohio on 4 December 1942 and was sent overseas in September 1944.

In the early morning of 18 December, a shell struck Sgt Wall while walking a few miles from Monschau, Germany. He was taking to a small hut nearby where he died a few minutes later.
