S/Sgt William P. Schimeneck was employed by the Bethelhem Steel Co. before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 18 November 1942, together with his brother Herbert. He received his basic training at Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi and was was sent overseas in October 1943.
