Pfc Bannick enlisted on 10 May 1944 and was sent overseas in December 1944.His cousin, Pfc Ronald C. Bannick, was lost at sea on 25 December 1944. He is memorialized at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
