Pvt Troy Crapps enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 1 September 1942.

He was a farmer before he enlisted.

On the 18th January 1945 the 2nd Infantry Regiment crossed the Sauer River in the vicinity of Ingeldorf-Diekirch.
