T/5 Bernard T. Lewandowski enlisted in Wilkes- Barre, Pennsylvania on 22 October 1943. Member of a Medical Corps. T/5 Lewandowski received his basic training at Camp Barkeley, Texas and further training at the Beaumont General Hospital, El Paso, Texas. he was sent overseas in July, 1944.He attended St. Mary's High School and was employed in a local food market.
