More information

Pvt Stewart F. Dickes worked at General Motors.

His brother Forest is buried next to him.

His daughter Jan recalls: "I have no memory of him. He left on my 2nd birthday and never came home. My mother was a widow at age 29 with three children. She never remarried and said 'when you had the best, don't settle for less'. My grandfather Dickes died of a broken heart after his two boys were killed within six weeks of each other."
