Lt. John D. Green graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1934 where he received his degree in Agronomy. He was employed at the Virginia Agricultural Extension Division.He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Foy, Belgium.
He is remembered at the Lakewood Cemetery in Bowling Green, Caroline County, Virginia.
