Pvt Durward W. Rollins enlisted in Rutland, Vermont on 15 November 1943. He trained at the Aberdeen, Md., Proving Grounds and went to England in August, 1944, remaining there until Thanksgiving time, when he was transferred from ordnance to the infantry and sent to France.He married Miss Irene Kingsley of Windsor on October 23, 1935. After living in Hardwick he lived in Brandon and when he entered the service, he was operating a farm in Goshen, where his wife and nine month old daughter were living.
