Pfc Lee A. Magruder attended high school for four years before he enlisted in Evansville, Indiana on 6 July 1943. He had been overseas September 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.

He is remembered at the Woodville Cemetery in Woodville, McCracken County, Kentucky.
