Pvt Carmelo B. Guido enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 17 January 1941.He attended Jamestown High School in Jamestown, New York, where he was the manager for the basketball team in 1937.
He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple heart with Oak Leaf Cluster for Services on 10 June 1944 when he served during the invasion at Utah Beach.
