Pvt Jack M. Thompson was a stock clerk before he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 6 February 1943.

He first served with the glider infantry before he was transferred to the medical corps. He was killed by machine gun fire while attending to a wounded soldier in a foxhole.
