Pvt Thomas J. Hart Jr. attended Austin High School.He was killed by a shot gun wound in the chest.
Pvt Hart was initially buried at the temporary American Military Cemetery of Ittenbach #1, Germany on 7 April 1945. After being disinterred he was buried in a temporary grave at Margraten on 28 August 1945. After being disinterred a second time and after the cemetery was given a permanent status, he was given his final resting place on 15 April 1949.
Two of his brothers also served during the war.
His father died from the effects of gas in World War I.
