Pfc. Virgil R. Hoelscher, enlisted on 25 April 1942, and trained to become a military policeman at Fort George Wright, Washington and at Mountain Home, Idaho. Later he was transferred to the infantry and trained at Camp Howze, Texas. He was overseas for about a month.
