Sgt Robinson attending Edward Little High School and was employed at the Bath Iron Works.He was already a veteran of the campaigns in North Africa and Sicily.
He was reported wounded in action on 21 September 1944. After recovering, he rejoined his unit. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart a first time.
