Cpl Joseph S. Wimbrough attended college for one year and was employed at the H E Crook Company before he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 9 February 1943.He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
