Pfc Robert B. Shank graduated from Glenville High School and attended Ohio State University for two years where he joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Columbus, Ohio on 25 November 1942.He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at South Dakota School of Mines.
