1st Lt William S. Henderson graduated from Oregon State College in June 1942. He entered the service 11 September 1942 and was sent overseas on 1 September 1944.He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his skillful leadership enabling his men to beat off an attack by three German armored vehicles and a platoon of German infantry.
