Cpl Charles W. Mace graduated from John Harris High School and was employed at the Harrisburg Steel Corporation before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 30 May 1944. He was sent overseas in November 1944.

He was killed when he stepped on a land mine.

He is remembered at the Shoops Cemetery in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
