T/5 Orion D. Peterson graduated from Austin High School in 1937 and employed at the Austin Auto Company.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 9 February 1942 and was sent overseas in 2 February 1945.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his head.
