T/5 Elbert L. Stephens worked on a farm.He enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 1 August 1941 and served with his unit in North Africa and Sicily before the 9th was shipped to France.
At the time of his death his brother Clarence served with the Seabees in the South Pacific.
