1st Lt Helmut W Fesca, M.D. graduated from Lick Wildmerding Lux High School. He graduated from the University of California Medical School receiving his medical degree in February 1943.

Lt Fesca was taken as a prisoner on 11 July 1944 and probably died in a German field hospital. The exact location is not known.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Solers, France.

His parents were both German nationals living in the U.S.
