Pvt Steve Disko enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 4 November 1942.He was killed by shell fragments in the back.
Pvt Disko was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 14 March 1945. He was disinterred on 13 November1947 and given his final resting place on 13 July 1949.
