S/Sgt Alfred M. Auerbach enlisted at Fort Jay Governors Island, New York, on 16 April 1942. He attended college for 1 year and was a credit man before he enlisted.He was killed by shrapnel.
He was first buried at Block L-4, Row 1 ,Grave 10 on 28 March 1945. His body was disinterred on 7 November 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 24 November 1947. He was given his final resting place on 26 April 1949.
