2nd Lt. Charles R. Mc Chesney graduated from Highland Park High School.He enlisted in Detroit, Michigan on 27 May 1941 and was overseas for seven months when he was killed.
He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy on 23 and 24 March 1945.
