Pfc Vito W. Tito graduated from Hazleton High School with the class of 1941 and studied at the Hazleton Penn State Undergraduate Center for two years where he was taking his pre-medical course.He joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 28 November 1942. He was selected for the ASTP program for which he was sent to Rutgers University in October 1943. He was sent overseas in September 1944.
He was killed by a sniper while carrying a wounded soldier.
He is remembered at the Knights of Pythias Greenwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
