T/5 John Kitcho was a graduate of John Adams High School and was employed by the Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company.

He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 24 October 1942. He was part of his unit from the moment from the beginning of its activation and therfore was a veteran from the complete European campaign.
