2nd Lt Lewis Williams was a machinist before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the united Stated in Newark, New Jersey on 16 January 1942.He was killed while bailing out from the aircraft. He was caught on the stabilizer. The airplane made a crash landing. The other nine crew members survived, some of them with injuries.
