T/ Sgt Arthur E. Martin was was a machanic, employed by the Edwards Manufacturing Company before he enlisted in Portland, Maine on 26 February 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.

The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. Eight crew members were killed, one was taken prisoner.

The killed crew members were initially buried in a common grave at the cemetery of Niedermöllern on 3 August 1944.
