2nd Lt Thomas J. Tracy graduated fromf Aquinas Institute in 1940. He was employed in the office of the American Laundry Machinery Company.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Rochester, New York on 7 July 1942. He was sent overseas in April 1944.

At 10:30 AM the airplane was attacked by 40 FW 190's. It was hit and a large explosion caused a huge ball of fire and smoke.

Seven crew members were killed and were initially buried at the cemetery of Neumünster on 27 May 1944.
