More information
2nd Lt Norman G. Robitoy worked in a machine shop before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 29 March 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters. It is possible it was shot down, some records state that it collided with the FW 190 of 1st Lt König of I/JG 11. Due to bad weather and smoke it is uncertain if this collision concerned this B-17 or another one.
The entire crew of ten men was killed. They were buried on 27 May 1944 at the South cemetery of Neumunster.
