Pvt John E. Dindot was a sport instructor before he enlisted at Camp Perry, Ohio on 8 January 1942.He was caught in heavy enemy machine gun fire as he fought on the ground near his tank.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Champigneul, France.
He is remembered at the Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill, Paulding County, Ohio.
