1st Lt Robert E. Annin III attended Princeton University where he was a member of the cross-country teams, captaining the team in his freshman year. He majored in historyHe was sent overseas on 1 June 1944.
He died as the result of severe fractures of head and face.
He was first buried at Block VV, Row 4, Grave 82 on 4 May 1945. He was disinterred on 17 September 1948 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 24 September 1948. He was given his final resting place in April 1949.
