T/4 Joseph R. Michael enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 13 June 1941.He attended high school for 4 years and worked in a machine shop before he enlisted.
A half-track and three M5A1 Stuart light tanks were sent out to find two trucks of B Company of the 23rd Armored Engineer Combat Battalion who were missing since the day before.
