Pfc Harris E. Smith attended high school for four years and worked on a farm.He enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 19 May 1944 and was sent overseas in December 1944.
He is remembered at the cemetery of the Salem Reformed Church in Winston, North Carolina.
