Pfc Albert J. Esposito enlisted in New York City, New York on 13 July 1943.First buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Fosse Block D, Row 8, Grave 158.
On 10 September 1944 the 3rd Armored Division (Spearhead Division) fired what it claimed was the first American field artillery shell of the war onto German soil. Two days later it passed the German border and soon breached the Siegfried Line, taking part in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest.
