Sgt Stanley V. Siergiej was a graduate of Peckham Vocation High School and was employed by Allied Mills.He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Buffalo, New York on 24 January 1942.
He was the first American to enter Liege, Belgium on 16 September where he later captured ten Germans.
