Pvt Allen M. Oltz enlisted in Fort Dix, New Jersey on 28 March 1944.He attended grammar school and worked as a chauffeur or driver. Sent overseas in September, Pvt Oltz had served as a machine gunner with the U.S. 9th Army. An employe of Crowley's, Inc., he received training at Camp Blanding, Fla., before being assigned to overseas duty. He had two brothers in service and a third brother awaiting a call to duty at the Detroit home.
