Pfc Carl N. Riddle enlisted at Fort Myer, Virginia on 6 December 1943. He landed in Scotland and then to England and into France early in July 1944 and went into combat immediately.He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on 1 August 1944 for meritorious service in action in France.
