Pvt Guy R. Marlar attended Hominy High School. He was employed by the Continental Oil Company in Ponca City.He enlisted in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 25 January 1944 and received his training at Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal posthumously for heroic achievement on 12 November 1944.
